The Gamo P-23 can fire .177 Caliber BBs or Pellets. There is an in gun magazine that can be loaded with up to 10 4.5mm round BBs. To fire a pellet, it is loaded directly into the barrel opening. Gamo indicates that any quality, new steel air gun BB or lead pellet ammunition can be used in the Gamo P-23.
